The Stranger 04:54
You don't need to know who I am You don't need to know my name Just fall asleep with me Till I forget my pain I don't want to call it love I barely want to call it sex Just grant me some of yourself Till I forget my-- Hear me out...

Narcissus 06:04
I'll never, I'll never look at you the same Ever since the day we tried it Everyone, they would tell me that it wasn't good But I don't know, I kinda liked it We never knew the world was such a funny place When we were young You are me, you are me and I am you I repeat what you are saying I just hope, I just hope that you feel the same But I can't tell what you are thinking I won't ever be alone again Because I'm the same as you This world, this world is a scary place But I feel safe with you before me If you're gone, if you're gone then where am I? In a bubble made of stone whose walls are coming down When I reach for you, your body fades away I never knew the world was such a funny place When I was young All corrupted by what I know Just the ripples of innocence Just the ripples of memories Just the ripples of you and me I'm too terrified to be alone again

Groupthink 06:16
The hardest part of the day is waking up But maybe not for you Some echo-chamber viral lies Cast to every unplugged ear So ain't it tough to fall asleep? All my friends think you're great And they're driving me insane It's a party I'm not invited to But I will stay just as long as I need to There's no place for me here... So how much do your bosses pay? And how much do your masters pay? We'll spend that cash on guns and things So the bad guys don't get away The hardest part of the day is waking up I hate your fucking face. I hate your fucking laugh. Were you laughing still when you poisoned their waters? Were you laughing still when you blew their houses down? Let's sit around blowing bubbles And filling them with hot air It's a party I'm not invited to But I'll pretend whatever you want me to So we'll let slip a great war And we'll not care who dies Let our partisan take the wheel And steer us to demise I've become a pair of eyes...

When everyone has left the building I'm still gripped in chitter-chat To keep the black knight at bay To keep the demons in their cage What kind of monster would I be if I had let up long ago? What kind of monster would I be if I had let up long ago?
5.
How long has it been? Who's counting anyway? Who called the executioner? What have I done, or have not? What would you say I'm guilty of? Blink and you miss it Just one blink... If I had the chance, it's probably gone by now What I wouldn't give-- Never mind Do you ever look at a photograph And think to yourself: "I am over time"? Go get the executioner
6.
Seems like a storm is coming Seems like a storm is coming for me We tied the house down We're stocked for weeks but starving now Stumbled down the rabbit's hole Cut clean through the rabbit's foot Looks just like an albatross Feels like there was no warning The home we built just fell apart To stare upon the pieces A jigsaw puzzle cut all wrong Stumbled down the rabbit's hole Cut clean through the rabbit's foot Looks just like an albatross

Savior 03:19
Right in the middle of chaos She saw the world was upside-down Waiting for someone who would save us She learned that we are on our own (Spin me a story, maybe Make me a king Throw out your worries, baby Take us away) Prescription bottles running empty Her nails are clawing through her skin She prayed for someone who could take her But still the sky won't let her in (Spin me a story, maybe Make me a king Throw out your worries, baby Take us away) It never happens like the movies Her answer sheet was full of blanks Another lifetime to recover Another fairy tale awaits

He's here, he's there, he's everywhere With a heart of gold Whenever you need him His gut, it bursts, it folds, it hurts With butterflies When he asks the questions: "Who am I? Who are you? Who is anyone In this foreign place where no one is needed?" "Do I blink? Do I think? Do I breathe at all when you're far away pulling someone else's strings?" He was made to serve...
9.
Chatterbox 05:47
Think of something to say To pass the time, to fill the space It shouldn't even really matter Don't you tremble. Don't you bite your tongue Keep talking So I'll think that everything's alright Keep talking So that we can fill this empty night Do you still have the bit you took from me? One less thing to commit to memory What are the words that I can say to you To make sure that you'll remember me? Keep talking So I'll think that everything's alright Keep talking So that we will never end this night Whisper in my ear To tell me we won't fuck up again And seal it with a kiss A toast to my ignorance Did you mean the things you said to me? How much should I keep? How much should I burn? It shouldn't even really matter-- wait That's not what I meant Where'd I put my words? How many times do you repeat yourself When you're all alone with someone else? What were the words I could have said to you To make sure you would remember me? Keep talking Till I think that everything's alright Keep talking So that we can save this empty night

(Live another day, you live another day, you...) Wake up in a bed that's not your own Wonder how it all could go so wrong Questions, lights, and strangers flowing through They buzz like flies with empty words We are scrap metal turned to rust in the rain So I pray for rain, so we can stay here forever (Live another day, you live another day, you Live another day, you live another day--) I know that's not the thing you want to hear I know that all your pain won't disappear I wish I had an answer or two to give But I have an ear and it's all yours We are scrap metal turned to rust in the rain So I pray for rain, so we can stay here forever (It's okay to cry...) It's okay, what you're feeling I've been there, too Let's not hope for fair-weather Just know we're in this together Well I'm glad you're here, I'm glad you're here The squeaky hinge, it gets the oil, but Please know you don't have to squeak for me I have an ear and it's all yours We are scrap metal turned to rust in the rain So I pray for rain, so we can stay here forever (Live another day, you live another day, you...)

about

'Interloper' is the debut album by artist Vante.

Drawing inspiration from groups such as Radiohead, Portishead, and Wye Oak, Interloper merges Alt Rock grooves, electronic kicks and swells, and video game minimalism to create a rough but energetic Alternative sound.

Its themes are existential and touch on post-relationship insecurity and heartache, lack of political and social belonging, acceptance or denial of past and present, and depression, suicide, and recovery.

about

Vante New York, New York

Just a dude from New York who's been composing music and writing stories for a long while. I like to be weird and experiment, I hope it translates to something pleasant and/or digestible as I continue to develop my work. Please enjoy :)
